New
Services!!!
DDR is very pleased to announce that we
have been awarded the addition of Habilitation, Individually
Designed Living Arrangement (HAI) and Person Centered Plan
(PCP) services.
HAI is an alternative to group homes and is very beneficial
for individuals who possess higher functioning independent
life skills and need only limited supervision. If your son
or daughter may be ready to live independently, contact DDR
for more information.
PCPs are an empowering, Consumer-driven alternative to your
ISP and can be customized for short-term and/or long-term
goals.
DSP
Banquet—August 14
I am pleased to announce that the inaugural DDR DSP
Recognition Banquet was a huge success! We had 25 DSPs,
Consumers and guests sharing a relaxing evening of
camaraderie, entertaining conversation and delicious
cuisine.
The evening started off with a powerpoint presentation of
DDR photos and highlights, then presentations by 3 community
resources. We then turned the spotlight on our outstanding
DSPs, as our Consumers made heart-felt presentations to
their special DSP(s), and I got the chance to share a few
words about why each DSP, and our administrative assistant,
is special to me.
It was a thrill to announce the DSP of the Year, and I’m
very proud to inform you that 2 DSPs of the year were chosen
– Sam Covey and Kelly Hyte! They were invited to share in a
very special fundraiser on September 20 for the Mesa
Association of Sports for the Disabled.
All Consumers and DSPs received a goody bag, specially
marked with DDR’s logo and new slogan, and filled with
goodies such as customized DDR sticky notes, pen and mints,
as well as a movie pass, and various community resources and
information.
I am looking forward to next year’s banquet and honoring
even more of DDR’s fine employees!

Employee Spotlight
Kelly H.—
I was born and raised in the Valley, grew up in Chandler
where my father was the Chief of Police. When he retired, we
moved to Gilbert where I graduated from high school.
I grew up having a horse since I was 9, and rode every day.
This was a big part of my life until having children at 29.
I worked for Tip Top Nurseries for 13 years. I absolutely
loved my job and the people I worked with. I worked for a
couple of years at Home Depot in their Garden Center and
then went to work at DDR three years ago.
I really enjoy Special Olympics and the Monday Night Drama
Group. I got started at DDR because I have a nephew with
special needs that was already signed up with Deborah.
I have two older sisters and one younger one. I have been
happily married for 15 years, and have a 21-year-old step
son, 14-year-old daughter, and a 9-year-old daughter. We all
enjoy camping and fishing and traveling to Utah to see my
husband's family. Life has been really good to me.
Happy Birthday!
The following individuals will be celebrating a birthday in
October, November and December:
